Winch control switches

From Faq

I like to sit in the driver seat and be able to control my winch with in-cab switches. Now that I have recently added a rear winch and am running winches front and rear (Warn 8274 in the front and Warn M8000 in the rear) the need to add more switches where I originally had my in-cab switches for the front winch was a must. Originally, when I first installed a winch on the front I had added 2 simple toggle switches to my driver side door panel where the electric window switches are located. I actually used the blank plate where the electric mirror control switches would normally go to mount these switches to. These toggle switches worked okay but to add two more toggle switches (1 in and 1 out) for the rear winch was gonna clutter my door panel. So, i decided to go online and look to see what kind of switches were out there. I found a place called Remington Coachcraft that sold aftermarket window switches and found a pretty cool switch that worked out great for controlling both of my winches.

The switch is basically four push button momentary switches incased in it's own bezel. For those of you who don't know what a momentary switch is, it means when you push the button the switch is on and when you stop pushing the button it goes off...same as a doorbell. I thought the "arrows" on each switch was a nice touch as they indicate the direction of the cable feed (in or out). As you can see, I placed an arming switch next to the controls. What this arming switch does is engages the switches, so the switches only work when you flip the red safety cap and turn the switch on underneath it. I did this just in case somebody else other than myself gets into my truck and tries to roll down the windows and pushes those buttons by accident inadvertantly damaging one or both winches.

As you can see they are lighted switches as well. I wired them to come on with the ignition when the factory lighted window switches come on.
