Default Summertown, TN

I went wheeling with a few of the TN guys this weekend at Wheelin' in the Country, in Summertown, TN. Awesome place! Nice large campground, a big obstacle course area, and plenty of trails of varying difficulty. Unfortunately there was a little more carnage than we expected. For those of you with fiberglass tonneaus... learn from my mistake, and make sure they're locked when you hit the trails. Mine decided to jump ship midway up an obstacle... Doh!!

Pics here.

Thanks man! Yeah, I was sweating the body damage big time, but luckily I was able to avoid it by getting winched out after the guy in front of me busted his second CV of the day.

As far as wheeling, Knoxville is a great place to live. Tellico (outside Murphy, NC), Summertown, and Windrock are all pretty close to you. There's other places in TN and KY that aren't too terribly far away, too. Also, Gray Rock and Gardendale are just north of B'ham, AL, and are only about 4 hours from K'ville.

Visit the TN TTORA board (on Delphi) for more info about other places to wheel in that area. I think there's a couple members in/around Knoxville.

Definitely post up the the TN board when you make it in town. I'm in Knoxville as well. I've been going about once every two weeks and I'm always looking for people to ride with. Like Rick said, there are plenty of good places to ride close by here.

I don't know if there is one on-line, but if there is and it's the same one they hand out at the park, it's worthless. Basically somebody sat down and hand-drew what their interpretation of the trails were. On the bright side, everything is clearly marked and easy to find. There are always a lot of locals out there who are more than willing to privide direction, as well. If you decide to come down post up on the TN board, and I'll be more than happy to show you around.

Good pics Rick, looks like some fun wheeling. Shame about the carnage. You should probably look out in your driveway to see if your tonneau fell off...again.

They do have a map online, but it's not really worth a great deal. It's the same one they hand out there, but it's a bad scan.

LAMO!!! That was honestly a possibility yesterday afternoon! We had tornados "spotted" on radar headed directly for us. As soon as I heard the 'nader sirens, I went out and locked it.

I'm usually okay at reading maps. A mild headache into that one, I just tossed it aside and played follow the leader.

Haha.. yeah, some got it worse than others. Luckily, I went away with little more than a very small ding in the bed, a cracked vent-visor, and a cracked bumper bracket.
