So are we sure there will be wheeling open on Sunday and will there be anyone willing to go out still??? If I go it can ONLY be on Sunday. I've been around Katemcy ALONE of all things last time and I was less than impressed. I want some company this time and I hope I missed all the good trails last time.

I'll wheel with ya on Sunday but I've got to hit the road no later than 3pm or so.

If I am still able to make it I will be pulling in late Friday night or early Sat morn. What time do the gates close for late arrivals? This will be my first Katemcy run.

Gates don't close. You can arrive anytime Friday night.

This looks like a pretty sad turn out for TXTO. But I will wheel just as hard.

Good chance you missed the good trails They have a ton of fun places to play out there...

Chad E and I will be there till they kick us out on Sunday I took the weekend off for this...

It does look like a small group but that will work out OK. Give us time to hit more trails

I got my Taco ready and even got a spare CV ordered, I am ready for some rock !!

someone dug up and hauled away my money tree. and the taco is on jackstands in my garage out of comission since friday. only a $70 fix but i gotta put it back together as much as i can and haul it to somewhere that has a welder. my steering rack lost a bolt again due to the shitty weld on the nut inside the crossmember. fixed the lower one about a year and a half ago but the top one broke, bolt fell out, and subsequently re-broke the weld on the lower one and bent the shit out of the c clamp. so i ordered new bushings and a nut and i still need a clamp so ill have to order it tomorrow cause i thought i could bend it back but its all tweaked. nevertheless katemcy is not in my near future.

Well the run starts tomorrow and it looks like it will be the worst showing since I started the TXTO back in 2001. I appreciate the members who will attend and I hope it turns out to be a fun time. Sadly one of the few attendees I listed above won't make it. Chad Eastman had to bail due to work. He wishes he could make it but can't due to a deadline due on Monday which requires him to work thru the weekend. I will be there first thing Sat morning. I will arrive Fri but am spending the day with a cousin of mine that lives down the road from Katemcy...

I look forward to a couple days of fun on the rocks and I am happy that after almost 3 years I am back on the trails. I hope to attend more runs in the future...

Thanks again to those that are making it to this years TXTO...

See ya there...

WOW, after looking at the posts it looks like 4 people will attend !!! WTF ??? Is this the TXTO ??? What happened ??? Are there folks that are going to attend that didn't post and say they were ??? I will be there no matter what but this is pathetic. You guys that broke ??? The Halloween run is 2 months away !! What happened to the Texas base we used to have ??? I have been out of the loop a while (as far as actual wheeling) but this is beyond anything I have seen in the past. We need to work on this...

I hope future runs have a better turn out...

IMO it just didnt work out for most people.

Hell I forgot the date and thats my biggest reason since making that long of a drive needs alot of prep time to get the buggy ready. And it takes time for me to save up funds to make longer trips like this. Cost of fuel to drive 6-7 hours to get there is a bitch lol

I understand your situation. You live in Beaumont That is a good drive for you. I am just surprised more SA, Austin, and even Houston guys didn't try and make what used to be our biggest run of the year...

Just voicing my frustrations...

Take care bud...

You can call this TX TO if you want but it is nothing more than a "planned" run to Katemcy.

Lack of planning and promoting for this "event" shows in the count of people going.

I don't understand how any of this is a result of Shannon being in the hospital. Shannon hasn't planned any of the recent TX TO.

As far as a sponsor, TOYOTA OF DALLAS has sponsored 4 out of the last 5 TX TO.

Maybe that and all that TOD has done for TTORA and its members should have been thought of before people started pissing in their Wheaties.

Shannon starts working at champion and copies the discount TOD has been giving TTORA for years and TOD is all but forgotten about.

NICE!

See you MOs at the Halloween Run.

Uh oh....do I hear a "what is the prez doing" thread coming on? LOL!!!!

Sponsorship is out there, you just have to put the time in to make it happen. I never liked calling places up asking for shit, but I did it anyway just so all of you ungrateful fucks could have a good time
BUT, I also had a shitload of people helping me out. I don't see that interest anymore and that's what I was trying to avoid when I stepped down (or was impeached, whichever way you want to see it!! )

People are always broke or don't have "time" ( I am guilty of not having time myself so I understand that part", but shit at some point people have to get active to get things going. TX TO used to be a big deal. WTF is going on NOW?! If people thought we were all web wheelers back in the day I can only imagine what they must think now...

I wasn't even really that upset that the TXTO was going to be just a "Run" but the fact that there was no interest in it at all and that no one even tried to get this run promoted really sucks. I am going to head out there and have fun anyways. When I came up with the idea of the TXTO I was hoping it would be the one run a year you would attend even if you were broke or had to use vacation time (which is the case for me). As it turns out this is the only run I will be able to make this year. I took off work for it, got the truck ready, and even talked the little lady into heading out there with me. To tell the truth I am broke too, but I figured I would find some way to afford this because I missed the trails sooo bad. It has been almost 3 yrs since I went wheeling Just kinda sucks after 3 yrs the run I attend will be attended by 4 people...

Didn't mean to stir things up. When I saw people bailing left and right I just kinda gave up hope this was going to be any fun at all. Someone mentioned following Rick around, well I won't have much of a choice as only him and Harold will be there Ben said he would be there Sunday...

I hope to make the best of it and pray next year this turns back into the run it was designed to be...

Later folks...

Reaper, you know as good as I do that it is whatever the club makes it. People need to step up and be active - this has been the one thing that has always plagued this chapter. I think it wasn't as bad before (or not as noticible) because of the mere number of people around. When you have a shitload of people even if just a few are active it makes the entire chapter seem active.

Ahhh, the good old days...
