I just put some castrol syntec gear lube in mine, i will update in a bit and when it starts getting cold. So far it feels the same as before i changed the fluid. The old fluid i what im assuming is the factory fluid, it was blackish/grey and thin.

i changed out mine today with redline 75w90 gl4. after 5 minutes of driving it was really easy to shift. seems to be good now.
fyi i had quaker state 75w90 gl5 in it until a month ago which really sucked when it started getting a little colder outside. i then changed to castrol 75w90 gl5 which was worse. the gl4 seems to be the one to go with.

from what i've read it's not recomended. gl5 is the better one for diffs and t-case.
