goliath, are you still running your 5100 rear shocks with the 3" lift? Any problems there? I'm going to run the exact setup as you.

Yup, still have the 5100s. They seem to be working fine so far. I definitely think they're at their limit and the leafs easily gave me 3" of lift (maybe a tad more). What would I notice if they were too short? hahaha...

Shoot - now you've got me thinking they may be too short... I mean, the seemed to fit when I was installing everything... Maybe I should get longer ones? I wouldn't mind trying out the softer valved OMEs... SHOWSTOP, do you have any input here? Thanks...

Hey goliath 2 how bout some measurements from the ground to your fenders? I am thinking about going with the same setup you got in the rear but would like to see exactly how high the truck is from the ground. Front measurements would be nice too as I may consider putting some eibachs on my billies up front, my front coils seem pretty tired...Thanks!

With the bed empty and a full tank of gas I have 40" from the ground to the fender flare in the rear and 38.5" in the front. I have 31" tires right now. Hope that helps.

Im about to order the Eibach springs and bilstein adj. for the front. Calling Alcan in the morning to get a custom pack going.....dakars were my first option, but Im going to relocate the spring hangers so Im going the custom route not that much more expensive.

Default Just an update

I was back and forth between the Dakars and Alcan but have decided in the end that a custom pack will be the best option for my truck. Dakars are not meant for the 97 yotos. They will not warranty them if damaged....yes they are very inexpensive at 299 but for what it’s worth im going custom, I need the versatility of load capacity, highway use and Texas off roads. Besides with the Alcans you can have them make whatever size lift you need, in my case I’m going to run 33x10.50's so a 2.5" lift will net about 2" in the end after initial sag, also going to add 1inch body lift to help with tire clearance. In the bed I will have about 200lbs of tools/recovery gear loaded at all times, as well as weekly weekend trips with kayak, fishing/camping gear and 100+ miles of highway driving. Comfort is important as well on long road trip of Texas terrain.

Guys i need your opinion on the bushing for the 92 springs. I found the springs and have them sitting, just need to pick them up. I ordered rear leaf bushings for a 92 truck, energy suspension, and now i'm worried they won't fit my 97 truck? Are they the same bushings, or do i need to order 97 specific bushings?
