There's just been so many theories from mechanics and machine shops I've talked to about what could or could not have happened.
I've been turning wrenches for almost 30 years now and I'd venture to say that if none of the bearing were scored upon inspection, it will be fine and no long term damage was done. Based on what you have posted so far, I'd feel good about the free oil and filter changes for three years with a warranty just in case.

This reminds me of an old 67 mustang a buddy of mine had back in the 70's. We'd built a new engine for it and were ready to install it in place of the original 289 that was in it, when we got the novel ideal it would be lots cooler to blow the engine that was in it before changing them out. So we drained the oil in the poor thing and off we went. We hot rodded the hell out of it for 15-20 minutes before we even got a knock out of it; so I doubt a quick run around the block did much if any damage to an engine already broken in.

I had a 22re go without oil for about 5 blocks before it blew IMO.
