Default Algranger's 84 Build Up

Hey guys, new to ttora but not to Toyota's.
I'm a self taught wrencher and a college student on a tight budget so this has been a slow build but i keep it moving

Threw a few wheelin pics in too

Here she was the first day

Pulled the bottom end apart and...

Grabbed a parts truck with a short block 22r for free with bent valves. Rebuilt the head, all new valves, new timing set. Threw it in.

Pieced it together with doors that werent cut up to shit. replaced the damn smitty bilt bumper
Previous owner>>

Welded rear

Grabbed a bed that wasnt a riddled with cancer

Bobbed a foot

Chev. 63's in the rear with Downey shackles

Rears up front. Had to get some poser shots lol

First wheelin trip and i flooded her. Filled the dizzy and the cab. No biggie

Next thing i did was waterproof the dizzy and add a snorkel

Few more wheelin trips and a set of 35's and she sat like this

Came to realize theres nothing "mud terrain" about BFG muds, they are a joke.
Threw on some 33x12.5 TSL's

Much better

Put together a bumper with some steel my buddy gave me

Finally got her rattle canned all one color

Hard core rock garden (jk i know its lame)

Old warn combo bumper with an M8000

Summer days doorless

Finally got rid of the damn clutch fan

Few steps.. as always, pics dont do justice

The downside nobody tells you about chev 63's

Hang up on rocks. Oh well 4 link someday.. that little runner will have to do for now

Just working with what i got

TG Histeer

Cut out and burned on some reinforcers

Very stuck on the Swamp Trail at Elbe Hills

Her first bath since the paint job

Added a few arts things

Comfy inside with S10 seats

Redid almost everything on the dash

Grabbed some 36's on rims for $300

Time to pay a visit to Bobby Long

Random pics while i was wrenching

This brings us up to date today.

She is now set up like this

Suspension
Chev 63's rear
Mixed rears up front
Rancho 5000's custom mounted, triangulated rear mounts
Downey shackles
Custom ubolt flips
Bulletproof homebrew front hanger
Reinforced rear hangers

Steering
TG Histeer
89 IFS power box

Exhaust
3" all the way back to stack

Tires/rims
36x12.50 Bias TSL's
15x10 black steelies

Running gear
Custom square front driveshaft
3" schedule 40 rear driveshaft with factory slip yoke
Welded v-6 3rd rear with IFS "widetrack" rear axle
Lockright front with stock birfs

Body (exterior)
Warn combo front tube bumper
Custom rear bumper
Bed bobbed 1'
Lots o' body damage

Interior and misc
S10 buckets
In-cab snorkel
DIY glovebox light
Cobra digital CB w/ 3" firestick II
Warn M8000 winch steel cable
Custom hilift mounts in bed

Now i'm getting sick of the 22r so i brought this little gem home one night

7m-ge going in HELL YEAH

First step was removing the 7m and all of its parts

Pulled the bed to make work on the exhaust and fuel delivery easier

Tonight i made record time on a motor removal
4 hours after i cracked the first bolt loose

7m-ge awaits installation

And thats as far as i get for now. I will post up a link for a seperate "7m-ge swap thread" as soon as i create it

Nice build I think you'll like that swap, just one thing you might want to do before you shoe-horn it in there is either retorque the headgasket or just replace it (HG torque should be ~70-80 ft/lbs, not the factory 52 ft/lbs)

Nice build! It definately has come a long way. I can appreciate a build on a budget and like the fact that you're doing all your own work. Keep it up!
